Elliot James Gunn
Biography
Elliot is a Post-Bachelor Fellow at the Global Strategy Lab (Centre for Health Law, Policy & Ethics, University of Ottawa). He received his Honours Bachelor of Arts (high distinction) from the University of Toronto (Trinity College) with a double major in Economics and International Relations. He has previously worked at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (Singapore), Ontario Public Service, and has researched for faculty in the University of Toronto Economics Department and Trinity College. He is currently a Junior Research Fellow at the NATO Association of Canada, and serves as an advisor to both the Canadian Centre for the Responsibility to Protect and the 2017 University of Toronto Model United Nations conference. His research interests include global health economics, Canadian foreign policy, and the political economy of international trade. Among his projects at the Global Strategy Lab, Elliot is currently working on a systematic review addressing the effects of international human rights law on health and its social determinants, and is part of a pioneer study evaluating the impact of the WHO's Framework Convention on Tobacco Control.
